I'm happy because I just ran a Cross Country meet and took 8th overall, 7th for the team. We absolutely dominated the two teams we were up against today, and I'm looking forward to my next league meet, which will be against our only real rival in the league. We actually got 9 people into the top ten, which is almost unheard of in a three-team league meet.

WHY DID YOU HAVE ME KICK THEM WTF I DID NOT WANT TO BE SHOT AT.
I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

So I fire up outlook to see if there are new mails for me or the conference committee (We're working on a conference about smart materials), not expecting much in the form of replies because companies are less likely to reply to requests of funding nowadays.

New messages for the committee... Interesting.

First one is a reply to a request of a companies logo, not much interesting,

Second one is a reply from a company whom I didn't expect to reply. They're interested in funding us in combination with someone of the giving a speech. Bit tricky with our schedule, but we can switch out someone who we haven't contacted yet. Whoo!

I finish relaying the request to the other committee members when a new mail appears. Another company is interested and is asking for more information. I double check my records because I don't recall calling them. Turns out it's a reply from someone we sent a letter some months ago. Yay!

Finishing that, I get called by someone. Turns out he's from another company I had called and they might be interested as well. Why he stressed the might, he did seem interested. Heall yea! I got more done today then on a lot of days before and I didn't even have to call anyone!

I finished reading Lord of the Rings and beat Batman : Arkham Asylum tonight. I feel awesome and productive even though I've actually accomplished nothing of value.

I've been thinking, I need a small, innocuous book to write everything down. Because I really, really don't want to share it on here (I'm not the sorta person that does that and besides, I'm fairly sure what's bothering me is what every single adolescent on the planet has and will go through, sans the gay parts) and I think it'll make me feel better if I get everything down. Actually, I feel better already. I'm gonna get on this.

Oh, and on an even happier note, I went to see an exhibit of European Masters. Those who live in Melbourne should go to, it's cool. I've decided I like a lot of the landscapes drawn by German Romanticists in the 1800s, and hate abstract art. Having gone, I think I've finally gained enough XP to get another rank in "Bluffing Through Snooty Art Conversations".

What I'm saying, Tack, is I don't feel like sharing because I'm positive I can work this out and frankly there are some things that if you complain about them online you end up looking, at least in my eyes, pathetic. I'll deal with it, bro. I'll deal with it.

You don't feel like sharing because YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE!

I knew it! I knew you were too good for me! I never deserved you!

... Cmon... I'm trying Really hard to be pathetic here. This stuff takes effort.

As for part of the application process, I now have to find someone with a scanner connected to a computer so I can hand-sign my fourty page background check.

On a related note, I'm now told I must become financially independent for everything except the house bill, and with the temp job ending, I'm in a crunch and a rush for a new job.

The makes me happy, because I'm starting to wear the pants, so to speak, but it would be a lot less stressful if I had $300-500 to aid the transition process. If I get the Homeland Security job, compared to some entry-level job, I can start doing the things I've been dying to do for the past three years. At heart, I'm really not a video game kind of person.

For the mean time, this has also made me happy.

I absolutely refuse to believe this is a coincidence.
