Same.

Now expand. Try and put a backspace joke in there.

Is it about typewriters?

Nah, it's about the heroic journey, personal sacrifice in the face of tricky morality, guilt, redemption, and summer.

Also, invisible villains, and the ramifications of perspective.

It will probably be terrible, but I do not care :I

You are writing a novel on a typewriter? Good luck with that 'backspace' key.

Mostly planning.  I may end up actually writing it longhand.

Also, I'm used to writing without much editing, so it's not a real problem.

@Solifuge: That was amazing :D

Apparently if I don't have enough things to do in my spare time, I start shipping typewriter models.

...I think I'm going to go read something.

Off to work on my novel, which has finally gotten enough Idea behind it to start planning.  Okay, here we go ~

I freaking love typewriters.
Is it about typewriters?
-picsnip-

"So, do you think he noticed me today?"

Olivetti set down the beaker she held, the expression plain to read on her worn keys. "Corona, every day we're in the lab, you ask me the same thing. Has it ever occurred to you to just, I don't know, write something to Dr. Remington?"

"Oh, Dr. Underwood, I've tried. I've tried! But, whenever I find a chance to, I... I just jam up!"

There's an erotic QWERTY joke to be make here somewhere, I just know it.

<_<;

If you guys want to write typewriter slash, be my guest. Just don't do it with my characters. Dr. Olivetti Underwood is an upstanding model, and I won't have you sullying her backspace.

Also, since I didn't properly address Vector's story writing expedition itself, that is entirely badass! Jane Yolen used to say that writing on a typewriter was great for her productivity as an author; you can't edit things that you've already typed, so you're always focused on moving forward, which is great for churning out the rough draft.

Good luck on this, and I expect updates!

Found this in a google clipart bin. The context of the image has, uh... changed for me since I last saw a man sit at a typewriter.

The man sat at the typewriter flexing his fingers he slowly inserted the warm paper into that slot. He then started to slowly rub his fingers on the delecate buttons. Then he slowly pressed his finger against one, after a while feeling heat. After writing his love poem and left. The typewriter virred in anger.
