Well, you're lucky.

Here in the Philippines, I've seen cops actively persecute people for parking in a no parking zone when the sign was fucking hidden from view (Is that illegal?) and they can, and are, bribed.

I can't make a generalization, but I can say that there are definitely a lot of opportunistic cops here in the good old Republic of the Philippines. >_>

But, man- Cops just ain't the authoritarian monsters people make 'em out to be. Most of them anyway.

Cops are people like anyone else, ranging the gauntlet from authoritarian arbitrary Complete Monsters to genuinely reasonable people...enforcing arbitrary authoritarian laws even if they don't believe they are correct, which is almost worse in my eyes.

Even among the cops that I have gotten to know, even the ones I don't like all that much, I generally think they're honorable people. I wouldn't say they all are, by any stretch. But, it just makes me feel like it's a lot more good than bad. It could also be the "caliber" of Police I am working with; I work with the Police of my resident State. I know my local cops are pair shaped, lazy and geek for a cheap thrills.

Yeah, and that does sound pretty illegal. Why haven't you revolted yet???

well, the president dude who just got elected is beginning a campaign against this sort of shit, starting with those cocksuckers who use police sirens to get past traffic.

Hell, even Congressmen and other people like that were not spared. :D

Over the Last three or so days I have:

1- Seen Cool Hand Luke, again.

2- Found that song that has been lingering in the back of my head since I was 2nd or 3rd grade. *shudder*

3- Realized most cops are people, and deserve to be treated like people.

1. I like that movie.
2. Heh
3. I realised it when I once got stopped for a RBT, and the bloke dropped his breathaliser.

You are writing a novel on a typewriter? Good luck with that 'backspace' key.

"So, do you think he noticed me today?"

Olivetti set down the beaker she held, the expression plain to read on her worn keys. "Corona, every day we're in the lab, you ask me the same thing. Has it ever occurred to you to just, I don't know, write something to Dr. Remington?"

"Oh, Dr. Underwood, I've tried. I've tried! But, whenever I find a chance to, I... I just jam up!"
