Piracy would only be amoral if you were legitimately stealing something.

There, fixed that for you.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Legitimately stealing would only be amoral if you got caught.

I understand the opposite viewpoint, I really do. As a person who is trying to make something that may eventually be pirated, I understand pretty much all of the connotations behind it. I don't normally condone piracy, but in certain situations (like yours, where the material in question is no longer being produced) it may actually be a viable option. As per a previous comment, you can always find one used if you feel the need to buy it later.

Well... if you stole it "legitimately" then it's ok... isn't it?

Or does that just mean you've done something legal but amoral?  Eh.

In any case, I don't think I'd ever be able to do martial arts.  I just... don't like hurting people.  Not because of morals or anything, just because I don't feel I can.

Martial arts isn't about hurting people, it's about learning a technique, and the quest for perfection of said technique. It's about focus. It's about sharpness of body and mind. It's about maximizing your potential. It's about exposing your flaws. It's about enriching your life with new abilities and knowledge. It's about research and history. It's about community, and trusting those around you, and trusting yourself. It's about introspection. It's about finding yourself, and molding that person you are into whom you wish to become.

Piracy is only amoral if you the company selling it actually needs the money.

According to my [ETHICS], anyway.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

We may be in different weight classes, so it may be a moot point. I'm a light heavyweight.

I'm a slightly overweight 15 year old who can't throw a punch to save his life. You, apparently, know many martial arts. I don't know any.

I think you got this in da bag.

Wow, I just noticed that typo hardcore.

Also, Martial Arts is simply about studying combat to further a goal- or, 'To make an art of martial stuff'. So some Martial Arts are in order to kill people, like Krav Magra, or Ninjitsu (I think), and some are to defend yourself, like Judo. Some are to make you stronger or faster, or more mentally disciplined, like Tai Chi.

It's all different art.

And I suck at art, so I bet MaximumZero's daughter could beat me up.

As my father once told me:

"Acanthus, let's face it. You're not a fighter, and you're not a lover. So what are you?"

I then said:

"A blubbering blob of self-pity and apathy."

Just kidding, I never said that, but I realized that I probably couldn't take any of you guys in a fight. Like, ever. and ever.
