Then they went with it.

I laughed when the name was actually changed.

I'm reminded of something last night that I wanted to post here.

Nikki Sixx hosts a late-night radio show rebroadcasted in Dallas on the local hard-rock channel, where he frequently interviews popular musicians passing through town.  Last night he had on David Draiman, to talk about Disturbed's new album, which is apparently about and inspired by global warming and environmentalism and stuff.

For the pop-metal-cartoon-enthusiasts that I know you all are, imagine Nathan Explosion trying to explain carbon-recapture to Doctor Rockso.  I was laughing my balls off all the way to work.

I foresaw this when they remade Land of Confusion. Actually even Ten Thousand Fists is very political in nature; I haven't listened much to Indestructible, but I presume it is of the same tone.

I suspect as much.  Probably not just the same tone, but the same tonal quality even.  They hit on some weirdly cool, apolitical shit with the original "Down with the Sickness", and since then they've made like fifty songs that sound exactly the same.  They're not bad per se, they just sound exactly the same.  Although I did actually like the "Land of Confusion" cover, just because it gets airtime so I can imagine the original Spitting Image puppets video.

And yes, Disturbed are hordcore.  They are bad enough dudes to care about the environment.  Are you a bad enough dude to care about the world we leave for our children?

There was a "metal" festival here in Ohio a week or two ago, with such awesome bands as Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, and everyone's favorite Christiancore AngryYelling band Norma Jean.

They stated they wouldn't be using BP for any of the gas or oil in the vehicles they drove for the tour.

I agree. That seems to be the most common use of the genre.

I personally like... Whatever the hell Lostprophets, Homestuck and Greenday hold in common.
