I just got back from a little private Finnish Lake that my family and I used to frequent. I had a great afternoon of swimming, ate some burgers, and celebrated my grandpa's 82nd birthday. Also, had a much needed Sauna... they had that thing over 110 Celsius, which is about 230 Farenheit... and that's not counting the steam! I feel so relaxed... it's fantastic.

Also was rather happy to see that the Black Walnut Tree my parents planted back in the 80's at the trailer I grew up in is still standing. It was grown from a cutting they'd taken from a tree my grandparent's had planted a long time ago. Some day, I want to get a cutting from it, and plant it wherever I end up settling down.

I never could get into Civ 4... To me, it came down to just jamming end turn waiting for economy and tech to upgrade while my military sat at almost nothing. I would then inevitably be attacked by a neighboring nation, resulting in the loss of a city or two. At that point, my military would be akin to a chaingun: it takes a while to spin up, but when it does, you had better not be standing in front of it. And since I would pour all my resources into tech, I would them be building tanks to counter the enemy's spearmen, resulting in nation growth and even faster teching up.

Also, they need to be able to steal tech from you, to keep things even. Even without spies, just a small random chance someone sneaks out of your country with a lightbulb or something.
