Screwed around with some Cheat Engine on some random games. I find it both fun and funny to be able to change captions in certain games with a little bit of finding the string and editing it. Moreso that I don't need to go through a bunch of effort photoshopping a different caption for any reason.
While at it, I managed to screw about with what possibilities it would behold with certain games and see if I could make trainers for them. Unfortunately, emulated DOS games change their points too much, and renders any trainers or codelists I make useless. Nonetheless, I did find it entertaining having all my rookies in XCOM relabeled as Redshirts as long as I was still playing the game; and instead of having funds in XCOM, it was the amount of booze in store, and countries and such renamed with random references and such "Alien Artifact" being changed to "What the hell?". Though the game wasn't severely altered, it was still fun to screw around with captions and such the whole time. Heck, if I save the game with the settings, sometimes they stick. Like with MOO, I renamed my colony a few times, and the citizens weren't the wiser.
I also managed to find codes to give me infinite ammo, grenades, and even health and a constant disguise, even when walking in, on Covert Action. But like I said, using DOSBox seems to change the pointers too much, and I can't make an effective trainer for screwing around with. If only there were a way.
Well, if anyone wants to make any adjustments or sneak in some jokes in their LPs, this is a good way to do things.
Oh, and while I'm on the note of games, I got me another mastermind (4th one), and a couple more agents. I'm now 0026.
