By being awesome like me.

There's no software way to do it like there is on the Wii, you have to buy a special device nomatter what. I use a DSXtreme NoPass, NoPasses are the easiest to use (they're just regular DS game carts really). After that you just find the .nds rom you want and put it on the card.

It'll only work with DS and DS lite though.

There's all kinds of flashcarts; I've got a couple that work on the DSi, too, but make sure the one you do get is compatible with the right kind of hardware. It's all very complicated.
