Yeah, kinda like the real animal kingdom, where everything has to eat each other.  Although making the plants pseudo-sentient as well adds a new spin on things.  Then again, there are some pokemon whose implications and descriptions are just plain frightening, like that kangaroo with the glowing tail that can blind people in space, or the shark things that routinely sink oil tankers, or the undead bug that steals people's souls if they look in its shell.

The halfway cracked, Earthbound-ish people populating the world, whose entire lives revolve around mock death-duels, is pretty creepy too.

Another pokemon with some odd implications: Alakazam has an IQ of 5000, never forgets anything, and gets smarted the older it is. Why is this thing not the dominant species? That IQ isn't even possible!
