Adventure Mode skills in Dwarf Fortress.  Fuck.  Yes.  I mention this here instead of the new Future of the Fortress thread because I live down here now; this news also makes me happy because it's one more reason to migrate north again.

I may have finally come up with a homebrew-game project that's not so massive I scare myself aware from it.  Not that I don't have other things to do.

Oh yes indeed.
I now some people really disslike "Painkiller" and "Ram it down" albums while "Defenders of the Faith" is considered a masterpiece. Personally I like both of the first two, together with "Screaming for Vengance" and I just could not Listen to DotF years back when I first borrowed it from my brother. Might try it again.

Also, I concur with Aqizzar about adventurer mode. And also - yay, Little! For some time I thought you stopped posting, but your avatar and description below it just makes me giggle everytime I see it. Thanks.

I gurgled and flailed my arms when I read the coming developments.  About time those of us without the patience to play Fort Mode got some love.  I probably spent like a week on the new version because it was all fortress mode stuff, and even then I didn't hugely like the changes to fort mode.  I'll probably be back in it this newest version.

This is so me.  Seven dwarves is about the limit of what I enjoy managing, and Fort Mode is never going to let you interact with the wider world the way Adv Mode will.

Yes... I wasn't too clear what I meant in that first argument. It is a more useful system of measurement because it is more widely used, but no measurement of temperature will ever be any less arbitrary than any other.

I completely forgot about Elona, I think the main reason is that the game always crashed after I hit "confirm" on creating my character and after doing that five times it gets to the point where you'd rather not bother.
