Good thing that's not how AI works.
Not yet. He's not exaggerating, the choice will be "become cyborgs/bioengineered supermen" or "be replaced and die off". The singularity will create AIs that make us look like ants.

I was in the Court of MDickie today.
53 days for attempted murder.
It's just as bad as people say it is.
I'm going to stay far away from the religious ones though.

What made me happy?

A FMA manga overdose, some good intarwebz original fiction, and yet another GKC archive trawl.

Heh.

Now, only 60 years of a soul crushing job to go!

Although you can get around that by not getting into a line of work that is soul crushing.

I'm looking forward to people trying to get around the combinatorial explosion.  Of course, that's just me being a bit of a jerk... but still.

That's not quite what I was claiming. the singularity could happen in dozens of different ways, with massively different results, the only sure thing about it is that whatever emerges from the other side will be far superior to modern humans.

Last night a huge fat slug was on the balcony. I collected him in a dustpan and tossed him down to the roof below, but then I realized I had probably killed him. I just wanted to relocate the poor guy, not kill him, since I'd feel bad for killing something as helpless as a slug. Today I looked down to the rooftop and saw a long slime trail, meaning he probably got out of it OK. Yay!

Tiny creatures have a crazy high tolerance for height. Except for tarantulas. Those guys will pop like firecrackers.
