True, perhaps, but I felt that large amounts of the characterization portrayed the monumental suck of adolescence in a surprisingly accurate fashion.

Perhaps the fact that I was a self-hating adolescent when I played it contributed to the fact that I hated it...but still...

Back on Happy Topic, my boss lost his chequebook and I was paid in cash for the second week in a row...While I am not obsessed with the acquisition of money, simply holding a giant wad of twenties releases a primal joy within me, which you do not obtain from a bank balance.

Also, I learned a new word tonight. Hagiological. I will be sure to shoehorn it into a casual conversation as soon as possible.

Yeah, I have also played almost no final fantasy. It all just isn't my kind of game.

... But I loved Tactics Advance one and two. Two was pretty much one, but prettier and with more stuff in it. Which I love. Kind of the Stronghold 2 to Stronghold Crusaders.
Both of which are the best castle sim/combat games since 'Castles'.

I also loved Golden sun. Both of them. They're great, and also great for nostalgia gaming, too..

But FF? Not my kind of game.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Remember what I said about Gabe Newell being a lovely man?

So is Tarn Adams, for the same reason.

Oh dear fruit.
Do you really thing the second one was comparable?
I suppose...

I'm not sure if I can agree.
Remind me why the second one was good.
Please?

Finally got to Eugene Oregon. It is pretty cold and stuff.

Sorry, have to keep this short since my sister is using the PAL plug thing, and my battery is dying.

Remind me why the second one was good.
Please?
1. The main character doesn't inexplicably want to destroy world specifically made to fulfill all of his dreams.
2. The gameplay was pretty much the same.
3. No constant territory defense.
4. The auctions are fun.
5. More races/classes

That said, the first game was much better, though I'm not sure why. Might be because the morpher was my favorite class.

I probably should have been clearer.
I was referring to Stronghold.

8 was pretty good, though the story was a bit too sappy for my tastes. My main problem was that after junctioning 100 ultimas to Squall's strength it was far too easy. I also didn't like how it pretty much encourages to not use your magic at all and just bash things to death, but that was a relatively minor concern.

I also played triple triad far more than I played the actual game.
That's sorta how I felt playing FFX-2. Sphere Break took my attention more than the rest of the game, as well as Blitzball for FFX. They were more fun than the rest of the games. Just as well, FFXII and going moster hunting felt more important than progressing the story. Sorta a challenge to keep each one challenging without being too overly difficult. I have yet to reach Hell Wyrm or Yiazmat (AKA- The longest friggin' boss battles you've ever encountered. Gambits are necessary. I recall correctly, speed runs against these guys reach about 45-75 minutes.).
I turned off my PS2 twice so I could beat the first (rigged) blitzball game.  The final result (1-0, from a you-guess-what) would've made it one of the most boring sporting events in history to watch (I was basically playing keepaway with Graav) but I WON SO THERE.

a long day at the lab today, finaly after the winter break

my fingers have yellow spots from the nitric acid that will last me for months, my new, formerly white, labcoat is now full of holes because someone spilled my sulfuric acid on my workingplace, and I can't get that smell of ammonia out of my nose

and despite the exhaustion, god I love that feeling

I take it you haven't mastered the Jecht Shot beforehand either? That move is a gamebreaker (KO 2 defenders and +10 to attack, I think; I realized the second time around that it's ridiculously easy to learn. Just rotate the thumbstick like mad while mashing the "X" button, and there you go. Tidus's Infinity+1 offense move. You get it on the boat towards Kilika or Luca; I forget which, but you learn it literally overnight.). And later on in the game, level-up Brother (airship pilot) a few times, and he'll become one of your best players.

My games went from Crappy->Challenging->Curb-Stomping->Cherry Tapping out of boredom. Even after powering up/earning Wakka's Infinity+1 weapon.

I even went as far as dominating the game with only Tidus and Brother as my offensive party. Nobody else. Hell, Keepa (Goalie) was the fastest fat man to ever defend a goal in that game. He was the Jek Porkins of the Aurochs.
