The amount of math I don't understand in this thread makes me sad... and also happy. Sure, I have no idea what kinds of math vector is talking about, but that just means I have a lot more to learn, and that's the interesting part of math anyway.

Also the amount of geek in my room at this moment makes me happy. I am currently burning a copy of an old game of mine so I can transfer it to a computer without 64-bit windows or an internet connection(stupid compatibility modes do nothing but get me different error messages!), trying to get a broken installation of pygame to work, surfing the web, and downloading a copy of Linux simultaneously. This is also all spread between two laptops. Yay, geekiness!

I don't understand any of it.
Math hates me, and I hate math.
Whenever I am forced to learn math I fly into a berserk rage and usually end up breaking something.

Ya'll can keep your fancy number stuff, I'll go play hockey.

THERE IS NO MATH IN BASKETBALL.
Physics is nothing but lots of math being used to describe reality. Every little piece of basketball is math. Though you don't need to actually know any of it to play...

There is maths in absolutely everything, even if we don't always notice it.

It is not the basketball that is made of math. It is the math that is used to describe basketball.

Well, a basketball is not made of math, no, but a game of basketball, or even bouncing a ball, involves math.

You can use math to observe the basketball like a monitor to observe the workings of a computer, but that does not mean the math has any effect on the basketball.

Heehee, don't worry about it.  I officially started learning graduate-level stuff last semester, so there's no reason to feel bad about not knowing what's going on :)

Apples, pears, children, and chairs are not mathematical objects.  Though we may use applied math to study the human brain, that does not mean it is a mathematical object!

Also basketballs.
