This reminds me of how I used to torture insects. Ripping of the legs of daddy long legs... Impaling grasshoppers with spear-like seeds... Eating worms... pulling off fly wings... Burying and kicking beetles... Ripping off ant heads... Fun times.

I was also allergic to any kind of insect bite imaginable.

also you don't know how much I hate it that my chemistry praktikums I have right now are in winter

I love bugs. Especially spiders and Dirt Dobbers. I'd spend hours watching them crawl and fly around my room, make nests and webs. It's pretty cool.

Ants where a different matter entirely though. I was a vengeful Zeus to them, a Magnifying Glass my Cyclopes, and the light it shaped my bolts of lightning.

Man I wish I had a magnifying glass on me now.

I don't kill bugs. I mean, only a few days ago, I sat and pulled ants from a huntsman.

They were EATING IT ALIVE, Dudes. They were EATING IT ALIIIIVE!

But bugs don't feel pain, right?


In any case, has anyone noticed the interesting reaction between vinegar and the natural poisons secreted by the glands on a cane toad's back?

How can you not see a daddy long legs? Those little guys creep into everywhere. So fragile too, I once got one a little wet when I was playing with it, and the wetness somehow broke all of it's legs.

The spinning water covering strikes the daddy long legs in the right front leg!
It is mangled!
The right front leg flies off in a bloody arc!

This made me happy!

see how the quicksilver is not liquid enough to pass through these gaps ?

now imagine what happens when a drop of that stuff lands on a bug

noo, it doesn't just flow around him like water does. the internal pressure inside a quicksilver drop is enormous.

if you put your hand inside a jar of quicksilver, don't count on being able to pull your hand out of it again (that is, you can muster the force to actually put your hand into such a jar.)

so once parts of the bug, lets say a leg or so, is caught in it, and you move the stuff around a bit, it will rend him apart like the quicksilver drops are all the bugs greatest fans, and they all want a souvenir


that is, if you don't land a drop on him that is too big, and totaly squish him. afterall the stuff is almost as heavy as lead.

 On the subject of dropping mercury on bugs, my mind is going wild imagining the effect of Galinstan on a bug.

And I *am* a cat,  I'm just not the kind that runs around and hunts things, I'm the kind that consist of a sack of blubber laying on top of a fireplace and hissing at things while occasionally acting like it believes its the first kind.

Did a couple more tests for the freelance site, and scored top 10% for 2 more, and top 20% for one of them.

Had to pat myself on the back 3 more times (according to the advice after taking the tests).

Oh, and I actually got a full night's sleep.
