I know Janet hates seeing, uhg, real news plastered all over the board, because it's depressing.  And I agree.  But this really does make me happy.

(Warning: All big video links.) Ron Paul's son, Rand, just won the Republican party primary for the Senate race in Kentucky on Tuesday.  Back on April 14, he mentioned in an interview that he disagrees with the Civil Rights Act, and probably wouldn't have voted for it.  The day after the election, he went on NPR and Rachel Maddow's show, and crammed his foot even further in his mouth, making a laudably principled but utterly suicidal argument that the right to free enterprise trumps the right to not be discriminated against by a private business.

Why does this make me happy, you ask?  Schadenfreude.  I just love watching a fresh-faced political darling crash and burn, and to do so entirely at his own initiative by tap-dancing on a landmine like repealing the Civil Rights Act is one of the best burning crashes I've ever seen.

Some time in the twenty six minutes since you posted that link, the video was removed for terms of use violations.  What was it?

Obviously porn.

Grakelin is wearing Armok's face. It didn't exactly make me happy, but I giggled.

I was wondering why his posts suddenly became less verbose and better spelled.  For about ten seconds.  Not sure I approve, but it is kinda funny.

Not as funny as when Toony was running around as Aquizzar. (THERE IS A U!)

Would one get a warning if one were to perpetrate such an act to another forumite?

It's funny, but I think Grakelin will probably get in trouble.  Pathos is doing it too, and he probably will too.  Maybe the warning will make him get his "girlfriend" in line.

I'm happy I don't have to take a test today, although I'm sad for the reason.

Downtown Dayton has erupted into a plume of toxic smoke as a storage area filled with cars has caught on fire. Fueled by car tires and gasoline, it's both dangerous to inhale and will burn for a long while.

Eep! Make sure you're upwind, and if not, relocate such that you are.

In middle school, the town I lived in was situated fairly close to a dump that accepted garbage from other States and Canada, for compensation, and also burned off a lot of chemical waste.

One day, I woke up, and my entire house smelled of garlic... I thought it was my mom's cooking, but  when I went outside, the air smelled the same, and my eyes started to water. I went off to school, and the smell in the air didn't go away, and the eye and respiratory irritation only got worse.

Apparently, the dump had been burning off a ton of chemical waste, and hadn't been burning it completely, so they were pumping out a huge cloud of irritating and tosic chemicals into the air, and it was dense enough that the wind blew it over to fill my entire hometown.

Everyone's eyes were red and watering about an hour into the day, and half of the students at school felt ill, or went home sick. It was bad enough that the school closed for the day.

Best part? The dump refused to claim respponsibility for filling the town with toxic fumes, and the state (who were getting vast sums of money from other states to accept the chemical waste) determined that it was all coincidental, and effectively ignored the medical problems caused by it.

Unless you can put a price tag on it, it's apparently not important. I'm hoping that exposure to poisonous gas when young isn't going to come back and bite me and the other people from the area in the ass.

You can disregard my Stranded issue I posted in Sad. I decided to reload the game again, but also from now on to prevent the issue from coming up again, I'm adding -win to the shortcut (or at least using that batch file/shortcut that's included).

My farms are still intact, only lost 3 wheat crops to locusts, and thanks to my trusty slingshot, I wiped them all out swiftly. I'm now using those guys as bait for fishing. To further ensure this won't happen again, I hard-saved it. Now after killing off the locusts is where my most recent non-auto save is.

All 1 1/2 hours of work have been recovered. YAY! ;D

So, eight pages, plus some indeterminate computer stuff, all in... nine and a half hours?  I can't say I've had worse deadlines, but I wouldn't call it impossible.  Go man go, bullshit like you've never bullshat before.
