Oh man, oh god, oh man, aaaaawesome. There needs to be more freerunning/parkour FPS games. There's just so much appeal to playing through Mirror's Edge and trying different stunts and stuff.

I haven't actually played the full game, but I've played the demo on Eggsbawks 360 and seen this awesome playthrough and I'm hoping I can find Mirror's Edge 1 on sale for Steam sometime during the holidays.

The first one is meh. It's like "Aw sweet, this area will be awesome to get some momentum going, better spend 20 minutes beating these SWAT cops to death so I can actually fucking enjoy the running"

I did my first runthrough as pacifist run. The only time I fired a weapon was in that sequence where you snipe the engine block of a car, and the only time where I ever did so much as a nonlethal takedown was in that one very small parking garage with the SWAT dudes with LMGs, who would kill you right out no matter how you tried to get past. I think I had to reload thirty times trying to run past, and another twenty or so more until I got a perfect runthrough taking down each of them without being slaughtered.

For srs, some of the best parts of the game were doing those crazy runs with bullets constantly pockmarking the walls around you.

My roommate is moving out (and in with his girlfriend). I didn't mind him, but this means that I get to take the solidly built real wood desk instead of this unstable lump of particleboard.

I spent part of this afternoon playing with Legos. This entailed trying out various laser guns for a minifig and making pew pew noises to find the right one and building a pretty cool alien saucer. This improved my mood quite a bit.

Yeah, I'm planning to redo a space thing I had going when I was younger. I even found a some lists of characters I came up with that included their names, occupations, species, ship names, and weapons, and another one that gave very brief descriptions of the various species. I put all that shit into some Google spreadsheets, so now I have a digital copy in case those every get lost or destroyed. I'm kind of now wondering if any of this could be used for the basis of a forum game.
