I dunno about portal. I mean, the comedy was alright, but nothing new and the puzzles all felt underwhelming, like one big tutorial...

Aside working the pricing department today (I had to take the place of someone OoC on my day off), and usually Wednesdays have unpredictable end times since it must be 100% done before leaving, no time limit (usually leading to 10-12 hour long work days), The amount of BS was actually rather limited; despite the printer that we use in our department had acted up the entire time. Hell, I recognized the odors coming out of it, that thing was ready to burn out.

Anyway, prices to be changed were in smaller number than what we were usually hit with, meaning we were out on time for once (8 hour shift instead) which was nice, and I got some additional hours for the week keeping my paychecks rather consistent still, seeing as this week had less hours. Overall, it wasn't too bad, aside waking up early and having to battle my dream-state for the ability to wake up so I could get to work on time.

Thank goodness today wasn't aggravating like it usually gets during that shift. And also on the plus side, I got 2 3qt bottles of iced tea for 3 bucks. Sweet(ened).

I also did a bit of testing of my motherboard's video card limitations. I can play more games than I initially thought. I can still emulate my MAME collection. Spent much of the time updating it and playing some of the games.

I made an interesting calculation today. If my numbers are right, an Olympic-size swimming pool completely filled with pure gold coinage would cost around $200 billion. That's like a percent of U.S. GDP, we can handle that.

Anyway, I've noticed that I tend to wear a smug grin as a sort of security blanket.
There was this award ceremony that I went to because I have AWESOME MATH SKILLAGE and got an award for it.
I was hanging out with a friend of mine.
He's decided to become the best senior next year.
I wrote "drink some vodka in Moskva" in Cyrillic in his yearbook.
Meanwhile, this is the third year in a row I'm not in the yearbook.

Furthermore:

I feel recognition for an (albeit quite simple) accomplishment.

Are you Windows?
Not sure about 7, but in XP you could create the green on black feel pretty easily.

Nah, this is a shared PC. My dad would blow a gasket if I touched the settings.

If only...

I love screwing with the settings on shared computers.
Take a screenshot of the desktop, move all the icons somewhere where they weren't, hide the icons, and set the screenshot as the desktop background.
???
Watch in Amusement as your dad tries to open up the internet, only to find that he is now playing a roguelike in fullscreen mode, maybe Dwarf Fortress.

Man, I'm not that stupid, ein.

:D

Hehe, he never liked roguelikes. He never could understand why I spent my life 'fiddling around with a black screen covered in letters and numbers' to quote him.

That wouldn't work, you can't click on hidden icons.

Why not just settle for the traditional "Old man wearing a dress.jpg" as the background?
