Just went into an exam on around a month worth of material that I had one page (single side) of notes on. No studying at all. Blew it out of the water. And then the prof hands back a paper with a perfect score and a single comment at the end: "... No critique"

Feels good, man. Even though it's reinforcing my bad habits.
Exam on what?

Anyway, those are the sorts of bad habits that I want to keep.

Eh, only a fairly low-level Honors psych class, but it's the thought that counts. And I tend to end up pulling around an 88-95 range grade by screwing around like this, regardless of the course, and I really should be putting more effort in, if only for the sake of scholarship opportunities. Seriously, if I could muster the motivation to do anything at all beyond churning out papers the night before or morning of (and speed-skimming readings ten minutes before class), I could be doing a lot better. But I won't because being a lazy bastard is apparently an integral part of my personality.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Sadly, no. Brain ossification (or whatever it's called). Put simply, the older you get, the harder it is to learn new things. The neural pathways gets set over time and become harder to reconfigure. It's why my kids could probably take six weeks of Mandarin and kick my ass at it. Language acquisition is kind of an extreme example, but it holds up for other areas of knowledge as well.

In other words, enjoy your youth guys! It's all downhill from there...

So my brother just gave me the password to his remote torrent thingemy, I can now get his home computer to download any torrent I have a magnetic link for. I must abuse this, but I just haven't figured out how yet. Any suggestions?
Besides huge quantities of pornography?
Every Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and other generally-disliked artist's album. Ever.
Alternately, something worth listening to. Or watching. Or playing, he wasn't really specific which kind of tracker this is.
Porn has shock value, but not a whole lot of substance as a joke, I was thinking of going for something a little more devious, especially considering he already has tons of porn, I was thinking of starting with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and then seeing what else I could think of. Just Bieber might be fun.
Mac or PC. If it's a Mac, try finding the gravity virus.
No offence, but I think you people have some horrible ideas about coming up with a good prank. Here's what I managed to find for my brother (full list so far):

  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 1
  • Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
  • Early American Locamotives
  • Why Do Men Have Nipples: Questions You'd Only Ask Your Doctor After Your Third Martini
  • Avatar - Learn How To Speak Na Vi
  • Speak English Like an American
  • Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health
  • Death Bed: The Bed That Eats
  • Frankenhooker
  • The Killer Condom
  • Evil Bong

This'd be easier if The Pirate Bay had more really horrible stuff on it, but it turns out unless it's famously bad, most pirates don't bother with it.

Hey now, Abraham Lincoln: vampire hunter has the stampede fight scene... that was hilariously bad ass.

If he doesn't like books, then try analogue. It's pretty much a big disjointed story written down, but it presents itself like a game.
Also because some of it may well elicit tears of pure liquid sorrow sadness.

Well I was mostly going for stuff that has a ridiculous title and will likely elicit laughs. I just added The Illustrated History of Furniture, and The Winnie the Pooh Collection.

I'm still looking for more, I want something he can scroll down on.

Go for the Star Wars holiday special.
Oh yes, that's definitely going on there.

EDIT: So in addition to the holiday special, I've added, The Marvel Sage: The Official History of the Marvel Universe, Huun-Huur-Tu - Throat singing from Tuva, Nazi pictures, Shocking Nazi pictures 5th edition.

Still looking for more stuff, I think I'll get a few more then start sticking them on there.

Found my notes on the sci-fi extension of my old forum RPG, said notes involving bio-engineering, adnroid rights, corrupted politicians and such.

Also, got really sucked into this old game Snatcher. Tis' good evening indeed :)
