The Happy Days thread was just funny for some reason. It strikes me as silly for some reason.

I'll admit, I'm happy when trolling works out in everyone's favor.  Everyone's favor in this case being that no one can fight about it, because no one can post in it.

And yes, the Happy Days are here again.  Who doesn't miss the 1930's, when the men were hardboiled and the women were dames?

Hard boiled is the only way to be. Gruffly speaking into phones in slang no one can understand, which is generally unhelpful; dames in constant hysterics or ice cool.

What a time.

I prefer the 1920s.  Cloche hats are really sexy, and I'm not sure why.

What I liked was the suits and the fedoras.

You got to walk around like an absolute badass every day. It was expected of you.

Fedoras were the greatest hats ever made.  You can't wear one no without looking like a pretensions hipster wannabe.  And if you go around swinging a watch chain people will think you're going to mug them.  You can't even wear pinstripes and an overcoat without looking like a tool.

On the other hand, you can't walk around with a violin case without looking dangerous, so that's a plus for violin players I guess.

What do you mean you can't wear one nowadays?

There is no way those suits can't look good.

There's a guy in one of my classes that wears a suit and fedora (A real brand-name one, not one of those cheap ones that looks like it's made out of paper) to class every single day.  He also has a vintage (But not 1920s) car.  He totally looks like a hipster tool.

Jackrabbit:  No, he's right.  They're way out of style.

Admittedly I've never tried.

It saddens me greatly to hear that.

You can try to wear pinstripes, but they're pretty dated, and wearing them with an overcoat makes you look like an off-duty clown.  Overcoats themselves will always be fashionable.

There's a guy in one of my classes that wears a suit and fedora (A real brand-name one, not one of those cheap ones that looks like it's made out of paper) to class every single day.

I know a guy like that at my campus.  He doesn't wear a suit per se, but he does wear finely pressed clothes of good material with a fedora every day.  He's also like 500lbs and perfectly spherical.  When you look like that, anything you wear automatically becomes a weird style, so I guess he decided to run with it.

Friend of mine wore a pinstripe suit to her wedding.
It was pretty badass.
The other girl wore this vintage dress that belonged to her grandmother.
I got to wear a red tuxedo.

As for overcoats, I have a badass vintage overcoat from London.
I'd wear it if it weren't for the tropical climate here.

I think it depends on the form of the person that makes or breaks a look.
