Haha, I just discovered "Kids React to Viral Videos". When asked why the letters explode when they finish singing in Charlie the Unicorn, one kid answers,

"Joy explodes us, with emotion."

I almost exploded.

I love colbert

"30 percent of all internet traffic is porn, according to the New England Journal of Underestimating Things"
I usually prefer the Daily Show, but Colbert has his moments. I like how his entire show is making fun of republicans by acting like an extreme republican sometimes.
IMO, he has really come into his own. At first, I was either ambivalent or mildly amused by his show, but these days, I often find myself laughing at his (writers') stuff more than Jon Stewart's (writers') stuff. If I had to pin down a reason, I'd say his delivery of lines.

Not to be a spoilsport, but a flu shot wont do any good against the common cold.

Bah, both are highly mutagenic, that's why there's never going to be a cure or a vaccine that'll work 100% :p

Hang on, I'm smiling.

Why.

You're evil and feast on the suffering of others from the flu and common cold.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I've found that the best way to fight the common cold is to not use any of that antibacterial crap, to wash with soap and warm water, to eat well, and to power through mild illnesses. I still get colds occasionally, but my immune system and body are so used to them that the symptoms are barely noticable. As for things like the flu, the last time I can recall being sick with something worse than a cold was around eight years ago.

This makes me very happy.

I think the idea was more allowing yourself to get minor illnesses for the sake of strengthening your immune system.

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Ran a 49.22s 300m hurdles today at the track meet, first time under 50. My form was even more atrocious than usual, but I made up for it by sprinting. If I can fix my form, I can probably get that down to 45 seconds and perhaps make it to Regionals. (That'd be swell.)
