It's a little known fact that bare and bear had opposite meanings in Olde American. Just like how f's were used in place of some s's. You ever notice how words like "stairs" were spelled "ftairs"?

I love bumrushing to India and taking out its capital due to Gandhi strangely being the big dick in all of the games.

As I recall, it's a tradition in Civilization games to program Gandhi's AI to be very aggressive and expansionist. And sometimes willing to start Global Thermonuclear War.
