Coincidentally enough, I'm actually in the process of watching FMA for the first time, myself. (No, I don't know why I haven't watched it before either.) I'll be on the fifth episode next.

Started watching Batman the Animated Series, and I've discovered the most badass character in the DCAU.

Does he have super powers? No.
Fancy gadgets? No.
Tragic backstory? No.

He's a balding, middle aged fat guy who's self described as pathetic. And he makes the Joker cower in mortal terror, screaming for Batman to save him. (if that's region locked, which I suspect it is, just google the "Joker's Favor" episode)


I think I've become a cartoon fanboy. Sounds good to me.

Shaved my head today.  Had always planned on trying this at least once.  Hair has been driving me crazy for a while.  Read The Walking Dead issue lastnight where Glenn shaves his head, and had a good opportunity to get it done today.  It felt like destiny.  Now it just feels refreshing.

That was awesome. I never really watched this series. Was too busy with Freakazoid, Tiny Toons, and Animaniacs to really watch this (wasn't much a Batman fan at the time). I never realized how potentially awesome this series could get. That episode convinced me, and it was a nobody's CMOA that convinced me.

Just looked at the copyright/production date. Has it really been 2 decades since that show's been made? The other shows I listed were made around the same time, and most of the episodes are still fresh in my mind.

Got a feeling of nostalgia about the good ol' days where you had to schedule your day around what was on TV and such, as well as hunt for a channel with minimal reference regarding what channel you're on; and lacking a guide, you couldn't tell which episode was going to be on either, and had to memorize the schedules via trial and error. You kids are spoiled having DVRs and internet streams of these shows. Then again, I shouldn't be talking, I'm taking advantage of it myself too.

So, a friend is running a campaign in which we play characters from various parts of history that are trapped in a realm between life and death, having died and chosen to evade the afterlife for some reason (depending on the character). I scrolled through Badass of the Week looking for inspiration, and obviously I'm now playing a character based loosely on Julie d'Aubigny. This was pretty much inevitable, let's be honest.

I think her reason for dodging the afterlife is because she's a true believer in Christianity, and suspects God won't look too kindly on what she did to that convent. Or the things she did in that convent. With a nun. Totally worth it, though.

That isn't how it would happen at all. She would probably toss God out on his ass to bleed in the streets, take over the place, make love to anyone she finds attractive, then get bored and wander off to have more adventures elsewhere!
