The newest Something Positive made me laugh.

Though I missed it when it was on TV, and never got around to catching it since, I finally got around to watching Samurai Pizza Cats, (and a bit of Kyattou Ninden Teyandee, the source anime that the cartoon was parodying, for perspective). Before long, and despite my best efforts to keep a safe distance, I found myself loving the show. It's the very definition of campy, with a completely transparent 4th wall, nonstop ham-handed puns, and occasional acknowledgement by the writers (via the narrator and some dialogue) that they had no idea what was going on at some points, since they never got the script from Japan.

So much of the dialogue is absurd and wonderful. Since the localization team never got the original script or audio, they literally just had the animation reel to work off of; as a result they just invented their own dialogue and continuity, trying to figure out what was going on in the story as they went. It wound up becoming this wonderful self-parody that reminds me more thna a bit of Animaniacs. There was about as much cross-dressing involved too; apparently the big bad villain in the original wanted to be the Princess rather than the Shogun of Edopolis/Little Tokyo, though the localization team just spun him as a drag-queen.

I'm about 2 decades late to the SPC Fandom boat, but I'm now well aboard. Good stuff.

That gun doesn't make a lick of sense. There's a shoulder rest on it, but actually putting that part next to your shoulder would be awkward as hell.

In the game, Plasma guns (and similar weapons) have the rule "Gets Hot!" which means that on a roll of 1 to hit the target, the weapon malfunctions and can kill the user
