Might be a bit late, but I'm still happy about it. I found out a few months ago that my family use to be known as infamous highwaymen and robbers that bought their way into nobility in Scotland in the 1800s. Their people raised against them after a while and killed most of them by iron maiden. Some of them stayed in power, but I'm not closely related.

Not to mention my grandfather was a moonshine runner for Al Capone when alcohol was banned in the States. He made his runs in a Duesenberg, which Al Capone was known to own. Said that the police had no chance of catching him since it was so much faster than their cars.

My family history is awesome. :D

My family history isnt jelous of your family history, even though you'd like it to be, my family history gots guy that wrote his name on the nasa voyager record press release and got a copy, and presdent Lincon's lady friend, and a lot of nearly didnt survive that shit moments and recently won loterys.

My family history includes a High King of Ireland, Neil of the Nine Hostages. After that, they were mercenaries and brigands, farmers and homesteaders in Scotland, specifically in the bottom-most of the Western Isles.

My grandfather was a private, tank crewman in WW2. And, at the very least a branch of the Ui Nialls (ancestors of the Mac Neils) held a county in Ireland during Hastings and before.

At least one strand of my family can be traced back to the Original British Royal, William the Conqueror.

Hah. Yeah, I do occasionally like remembering that, like seemingly most European immigrant descendants, I'm apparently descended from one of the English kings.

Which isn't saying much, because so is like the entire eastern seaboard of the US. There was some philandering going on wit' those guys.
