I was told my bone marrow aspirate was clear of leukemia.  That means that I'm cancer free.  I didn't doubt it before, but now I know it for a fact.  :)
Quite worth the literal pain in the ass that aspiration was.

Congratulations, bro!  My mom had leukemia when she was a little kid.  I'm really happy for you.

Alright, I'm going to bed now. I start physical therapy for my back tomorrow morning. I fully intend to go full bore.

Here's the procedure on wikipedia if you're interested.
And the sample of my bone they took.  (red sliver in a blue solution, no blood)
Yay!

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

An aspirate needle is inserted through the skin using manual pressure and force until it abuts the bone. Then, with a twisting motion of clinician's hand and wrist, the needle is advanced through the bony cortex (the hard outer layer of the bone) and into the marrow cavity. Once the needle is in the marrow cavity, a syringe is attached and used to aspirate ("suck out") liquid bone marrow. A twisting motion is performed during the aspiration to avoid excess content of blood in the sample, which might be the case if an excessively large sample from one single point is taken.
*abject horror*

Glad you're cured though!

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Not cured.  I am cancer free though.  The aspiration was to see if my bone marrow transplant had taken hold.  I have yet to find out, and the aspiration was a week ago now.

In other news, watching the news right now.
Sydney was having some sort of crack down on fair evasion on public transport. Fucking dodged that bullet!

Makes me wonder though, if they want people to use public transport to try to clear up the freeways and maybe lessen the impact on the environment, why are they burning the people who are ultimately doing the right thing, rather than hitting the roads hard to get people out of cars? I really don't get it.

Still, they are handing out $200 fines, so totally ok with not having to pay one of those!

Yea, they don't like people getting in and out of the city on time without burning a tank of fuel. I almost got fined several times, but with a little charisma I managed to convince them it was my first time taking the bus and I didn't know how the tickets worked. Had a small stack of first time warnings by the end of the first year...
Fun Fact: It is easier to get by using a cheaper bus ticket on the train, than a cheap train ticket. Then they know you don't have a fucking clue how the system works.

Six, seven maybe. Somewhere between five and ten I'm sure. It was a potential $100 fine each time, and not once was charged.
EDIT: Wait, there was one time. Forgot about that. Got hit once. Would have totally made up for it over the year though.
