Hehe, guy I know is playing DF for the first time. He just messaged:

Aww, good times.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Don't that imply the creation of an artefact?

What it means here is that my brain is about to get that much better, and probably that I may sit down and write a bunch of top-class essays in the near future.

I found my first post on these forums. Wow, I was such a noob.

Quote from: Reudh
Creaturebolt's good. A hydra showed up during a gobbo siege, tore the goblins to shreds and died from its wounds (well, died from a dabbling wrestler choking its one remaining head.)

Then, after that was successfully repelled, i got another siege. These gobbos arrived just in time for the elves to come for trading; all but one gobbo ran into a cage trap. The last gobbo attacked the elves and their horses- because i was biding my time the goblin managed to train up to Hammer Lord and then came and ripped my military to shreds. Damn hippies didn't fight back.
Thankfully i had one last trick up my sleeve. The 'Civilian Alert' burrow was surrounded on all sides by cage traps, so I lured the gobbo there and he got caught. Now I have a good thirty captured goblins. Unsure of what to do, personally.

Good old creaturebolt.

You just inspired me to go a-looking.
My first was a request for a dorfing. I would later go on to be beaten in the kidneys by a blizzard man, which I detailed in my second post.
But then... ahaha my 3rd post was me trying to be cool by saying MAGMA, pretty sure I was doing it wrong.
But now at least I can say "I was saying MAGMA before it was popular". Hipster cred +100!

Lol nice. Closest I have ever gotten to that is saying something on Twitter to one of the Dr. Who actors and getting a response back. Made my day. :D

My closest is getting complements on my Cacodemon model from one of the guys who did the physical maquettes for the original Doom games.

Wow. That's pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of when my oldest sister had Bob Ross invite her to paint with him on his show. Also got to meet him too, he was a local celebrity (albeit, I was about as old as my nephew when that happened; uncertain of what occurred, but it apparently didn't work out with her having a spot.); apparently, I live just a house or 2 away from where he used to live (at least, one of his last places), if I recall correctly.

R.I.P., Retire In (your) Paintings, where the happy little trees reside.

I've spoken to Paul Jennings, an Australian children's horror/squick author.

I'm family friends with Michael Leunig, famously reclusive political cartoonist/poet.

He hardly ever talks. D:

I always found Leunig's stuff to be horriffically depressing. What is it with poets and making sure everyone else is depressed too? Such pessimists.

Today, after finishing a driving lesson with my instructor and grabbing a drink from the local shops, I ran into my friend's mum who offered me a lift home. Awesome!

I met Tamora Pierce and apologized for having a first name that was so hard to spell.

I'm poztijng from mobile and also bed.  The first half hour after I wake up I'm still in dream mode snd I'm deranged I guess.  The first thing I thought when I woke up was "the only dangerous part of the obstacle course is the naked tightrope room with the falling hacky sacks and the angry man whose job is to catch and squeeze falling hacky sacks"

While my name isn't terrifically hard to spell, people get it wrong anyway.

Knowledge Bowl match tomorrow, should be interesting. Pretty much every team that has a chance to win is going against two of the others, and we could end up at the front of the league.

(There are 7 teams who have only either gotten second once or twice, and otherwise won. There are 24 teams total, so it's a strange coincidence.)
