Oh, considering I was (shocker) a non-alcoholic until 21; just as you'd guess, I got wasted on my 21st. I never knew the joys of alcohol until then, and the resilience I built up by waiting makes it all the more awesome. Of course, for my first time getting wasted, everything had to be kept in close quarters (IE- party at a sibling's house). Aside the usual side-effects of alcohol for a first timer, it took me a few "silver bullets" to knock me down. TV shows and some anti-drug ads are full of crap.
And yes, FF6 is still, by far, the best Final Fantasy game I have ever played. Added bonus, GBA has bonus dungeons. Have fun with those ones. I only played the SNES version, and beat it. If I saw LPs correctly, or at least Youtube vids of them; my goodness, I hope you have patience and a good idea of what you're doing before you enter those hellholes. Makes rest of the game look easy.
Oh, and I beat Kefka's Tower with only 1 team. The other 2 teams had charms or enough skill to deal with REs, but not enough to deal with the bosses, those were left to my core team; which killed all the bosses and such, and they weren't godlike either, just skilled enough to do damage, but not high enough level to make all the fights effortless. Another reason for doing so was so I can have consistent savestates for the final battles. Plus, Locke rocks.
Of course, for completion's sake, I taught Ultima to everyone in the core team and had the beat the ever-loving crap out of everyone while wearing economizers. But after officially beating the game unfairly, I re-fought everyone on more equal grounds. Rather challenging when you play seriously.
Oh, on the note of Final Fantasy; I decided to find a torrent for FFX and X-2 International versions to see how much more of a challenge they were; and to check out Last Mission on X-2. To my surprise, Last Mission plays like a roguelike, except Final Fantasy X-2 style. I feel gypped on the US copies I have. It oddly reminded me a bit about nethack; although being the Int. version, it's ALL in Japanese. ...Great.
EDIT:
Sorry Jan. I didn't mean to continue it. Plus, I was just stating, at least from my experience, what I saw in the media, and what I experience don't usually go hand-in-hand with each other. Hell, I even went through a phase of training myself, under influence, various things so that I retain control and composure even after a "silver bullet" or 2, but still manage to do them as if sober and appear as such. Driving being among the priorities as an emergency precaution (quick to train, slow to master.). Surprisingly, I did very well.[/alcohol talk]
