REplaying some Cave Story, in the form of Cave Story+. Man, I wish I still had the free original to compare it to on my HD, since I have the sneaking suspicion that a nontrivial amount of dialogue has been altered.

Still, so good thus far.

Everyone I've talked to about it has said the original is superior in almost every way.

I have cave story+ but I may just not play it and seek out the original.

It's not altered, it's just translated differently.

There's a patch that puts back the other translation.

Anyway, yeah, a lot of dialogue has been translated differently, but it's not exactly a bad translation. Except they got rid of "HUZZAH!" which I will never forgive.

I'm thinking of exchanging what coal I have collected for the holiday sale/achievement fest for a few coupons/games. Got enough to gain about 3 of them, and still have enough leftover to still apply to the sweepstakes anyway.

I figure it's a wiser investment move to make anyhow. Never really won sweepstakes stuff anyhow, and the odds are ridiculous. I'm taking the safer road.

Theres a Cave Story+ mod that changes the dialogue back in the Cave Story thread.
