I've been reading ancient posts in the Homestuck thread for reasons I don't quite understand, and I find that it's necessary to point out that Jim Groovester was a fucking prophet. I've been giggling for a while now over a few offhanded comments that perfectly described the future. Anyway, that was your Old News for the evening, have fun with that. Especially those of you who do not care for Homestuck, and therefore have even less reason to care about this post :p

Enjoyed a nice lazy day today. Played nothing but games and ate plenty of junk food. Gonna make up for it by going out for a walk or a bike for a good while tomorrow.

Despite the horrible start of my day today, I've decided earlier not to give a s**t for at least today, and live life as it is. If my life goes straight to hell, then I'm not going to pull the killswitch. I'll wait for a time when I die not of my own doing, instead of actively pursuing it.

With that being said, it's hard to look forward to the future when you have a ton of problems piling up as obstacles in this track and field marathon called life.

But as I said, I will not trouble the trouble, lest it troubles me.

I work on this comp 7 hours a day, 6.5 days a week, and would feel every gig of ram missing.

I have converted one of my unused USB sticks to FAT32 for uses in bios flashing and I'm also in the process of making a puppy linux CD (which I'm also going to put on the USB because there is plenty of room).   

I don't know why but I have this odd feeling that I just gained a level in computer tech by having those two things handy.


In other news I had recently tried to build a computer for a friend, if would not run once built, citing a CPU error.  For the last few days I thought I had messed it up in some way.  Recently another computer knowledgeable friend checked my work and said that I did everything properly.  After that we contacted the manufacturer and found out that we simply need to flash the BIOS to get it compatible with the new CPU.  Barrowing another compatible CPU from another friend so that we can flash the BIOS.  (Which is the reason I made a FAT32 USB in the first place.)

So not only did I not screw up the installation, the parts are also not defective, as long as this BIOS flashing goes well it won't cost my friend a dime and they might have a working computer before Monday.
