^This. THIS. Oh Heliman, how well you've summed it up.
At any rate, everything Heliman said is correct. Listen to this man, he is trustworthy.

Like... I dunno it's weird. I blink and I'm like HOLY FUCK AM I IN THE ZONE?! Oh wait no I was just blinking. Heh...
I tend to get those after playing a game I'm really immersed in for 12-16 hours. The ones I can remember were Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, and a Portal/Half Life 2 mix caused by playing both for the first time on the same day. It makes for an interesting day of the conscious part of my brain telling the unconscious part that it is in fact in the living room, not fighting geth.

Also, job interview went well today!
Only a few more rounds of interviews and I may have a (well paying) summer internship! :D

Oh god the laughter, I hope I didn't wake up my roommate.

EDIT: And I'm wondering if a Cirnobyl joke doesn't belong somewhere in the title here.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Finally got around to playing Chrono Trigger. I've had it on the DS for ages but have been distracted. Meant to play it since before the DS re-release what with it being a favourite of one of my old friends. Really enjoying it so far despite being lost. I forgot what I was doing last due to being extremely tried at the time.

Speaking of game design, I've recently discovered Egoraptor's Sequelitis Series, where he reviews the elements of game design in an intelligent and funny way. He falls back on the RAEG thing a bit too much, but he considers video games, along with their controls, pacing, presentation, and the other elements that make them effective or not, the same way someone might consider the pacing, storytelling, or cinematography of a film. I like it.
I found a link to this in OT and have enjoyed the couple I've seen. Have to agree that the rage is already getting old but the rest is great.

Masquerade is pretty great, too, though I bemoan the fact that I can't set my apartment on fire.

Nah, this is Bloodlines.  It definitely gets better once you have a basic understanding of the controls, though they still won't permit you to recklessly commit arson.  I'm just looking forward to getting some more covering clothing, because man... >_> <_<

Still, I'm enjoying myself quite a bit.

I should probably get back to FFIV soon enough, too, because I'm sort of wondering what Cecil and crew are going to accidentally destroy next.
