I need you to have an extra computer that you just dredge the internet with, then fight the viruses in one v. one combat. One day your grandchildren will dread coming to visit you, the walls of the entry hall will be lined with memory discs, disks, and diskettes, each bearing a virus triumphed over. They'll think you're house is creepy; they won't understand what you have done. THE THINGS YOU'VE SEEN!

Their loss *snuffle* is still felt *snuffle* to this day. Mostly because I don't remember what they were, so they must not have been that important actually.

I found out today that the Marvel Universe contains/ed such things as Conan the Barbarian and Transformers.  And then Conan also belongs in the Cthulhu Mythos and Transformers shared a verse with such shows as G.I. Joe, once upon a time.  So we've got a lot of eighties cartoons existing in the same continuity as, say, Yog-Sothoth.  The implications are... interesting.

Grandkids: "What's a Disk?"

That sounds most likely the first question.

You know, if I told a story about my virtual exploits to my grandkids i'd probally end up being the grandfather that the kids didn't see that often...

Spent a fun midnight-birthday transition, playing a Minecraft Adventure Map with my brother and company. They even threatened me with virtual cake.

It was very silly, but quite fun.

Okay, so I've been teaching a friend of mine, eight months older than myself, to play Yugioh. He's been learning quickly, he's found his own strategies, and he's even discussed potential additions to his deck to improve it (since we're playing in an RP online, he has to get the cards first before he can put them in his deck). Today, he almost beat me - if I'd played one particular card when I drew it, I would have lost.

Today, he won for the first time. There was no contest, mainly because the other guy had 60 cards in his deck. I gave that guy some advice, he stripped it down a little, and they dueled again. It was far closer this time, but in the end, my student was victorious.

I feel so goddamn proud.

It's 4 am. I've been drinking since earlier tonight with friends - which is actually a rarity. Suddenly I had a flashback to another happy time.

We're taking a hike through the woods, sun shining down on the three of us.

My buddy turns and asks me if we want tea. In the middle of the fucking forest.

His girlfriend at the time broke into a grin and said yes, and as I watched bemusedly, they whip out a tiny glass tea pot, a minuscule pitcher, three tea-shot-glasses, a thermos full of hot water, and an assortment of fine teas. They place these all on a tea tray which manifests itself from their bag and start to steep the tea.

Now we've all gone separate directions: Him to Colorado, her to Oregon, and I still around the Bay, but I don't know what spurred the sudden, orphic flashback into a moment of friends sharing tea deep in the forest long gone (besides alcohol o course) when I realised as I downed my fourth double shot of Captain Morgan 100 proof - I still need a god damn tea set to whip out where tea is least expected.

Because clearly a man who can serve tea to his friends anywhere he damn pleases is a man to be reckoned with.

Obligatory "Boo! Hiss!" from a MTG player :P

Teaching people does have a certain amount of satisfaction to it.

That is very true and something I know I'm going to carry with me for the rest of my life, so thank you. I'm off to find a tea set as well.

Sunday Stream in 5 or so, trying to get Oblivion to work may take a little longer than expecting.
