After reading the General Sims Series thread, I looked back at a Sims forum and remembered a fun/interesting/funny topic/challenge. Caution: May contain nightmare fuel (or fetish fuel if you're into this sorta stuff).

Energy drain != Ability drain.

I'm suspicious though! Sometime we'll have to have a fight (I'll bring a Druid 10/Planar Shepherd 10, or a Wizard 3/Master Specialist 2/Incantatrix 10/Shadowcraft Mage 5) and see who comes out on top. It'll be fun! I'll probably be trounced, knowing my overconfidence.

That said, you have mastered the art of the defensive, it sounds like! You should try the Iron Siege.

EDIT: You have also mastered the art of emoticons. They were epic

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Looks like Barbarossa plays D&D the same way I played Mundo.

I'm surprised how many of them come out looking alright after three or four generations.

I'm pretty sure that's the way everyone plays Mundo. He is the ultimate meat shield.

He's not really much of a team player though.

Dammit, ever since I drove by those hippies earlier today, I've had a song stuck in my head.  Luckily, it's a good song.

Later in the thread, a guy dispells the magic by explaining how simple Sims 3 genetics are; when a child is made, every facial feature has something like a 45% chance of looking like one parent or the other, or totally random within the very conservative RNG.  As long as they marry someone else who's not hideous, it's a coinflip whether they'll turn out "alright".  Doesn't keep them from being hilarious though.

Woo for immunities!

How do you have that many dice, though? That is a ridiculous amount of them.
A program on my TI-84 that rolls a certain number of random integers from 1 to 20 and displays the number of each result. Then we use a second calculator to add them all up quickly.

Eh, the character was immune to both. I just used the wrong term. I have some editing to do on this character, but it'd be neat to fight sometime. The only rule I commonly see in optimization fights is that you can't do any infinite loops to gain infinite power or deal unlimited damage.

I just looked up Iron Siege and saw that someone named Bauglir tried to kill Dispater using a god named Trogdor. They were stopped when they were trapped in a room that began flooding with holy water. If that was you, how did the holy water kill you? Positive energy damage? Can gods even drown? Alignment damage? That seems like a really weird way to kill a deity.

My cat keeps chasing the tip of it's tail :3 I've also found a way to lure her to me if she's running around/generally spazzing out (which is suprisingly often.). All that I have to do is hide behind some sort of object (or heck, it sometimes works out in the open too), and drop something shiny. Anything from coins to keys to the shiny side of candy wrappers. She see's it and instantly goes "OOH SHINY :3 CHASE IT! CAPTURE IT! :3 :3 :3"

People underestimate the cover that cleaver spam and just being a good meat shield provides... but that's not for this thread :)

Yeah, it was the damage holy water deals - Trogdor was undead, and Holy Water has a 50% chance to affect even incorporeal undead. I was kind of expecting that - Andross, the Infosphere, was a more serious contender, but I never got the chance to run him. His creation followed a similar line of thinking as your Fighter - immunities out the ass. Gods, that was fun to build.

I'm still not sure what, exactly, killed Trogdor, though.

Holy Water can do some serious damage when you're immersed in it, but I didn't see how it overcame your fire, either. Tip for the future, though, there are three immunities that Andross really needs. Positive Energy, Necromantic Effects, and Negative energy.

In other happy news, I've been trying to get the 6th runner of my cross country team to run with me, our 5th, instead of being a minute behind. He stayed with me for just over two miles of today's 5k race, and I think by the end of the season he can be really fast, possibly fast enough to beat the 5th runner of the team who is referred to around here as 'them'. If I can get him to start putting in some effort and then he beats their 5th at state, we are almost guaranteed a victory. It'll be a close one, though. Most of Their varsity runners are pretty dang fast.

Ever heard of a game called Zelda 2: The shadow of link?
No? Well it is a hack of Zelda II, and that game was bad ass levels of hard as it was, but this? Oh god this! This will break you, there is no two ways about it. It is one of the hardest games I have ever played.

And I just finished the first temple. Holy crap, that alone was harder than all of the original game, but damn man, it is over! Onto the next temple... Oh god.

The first thing I do when I start with a new RPG is find out how many ways I can break it. With D&D, the possibilities are endless. It's glorious.
