My gods.. I have heard of GOG before, even skimmed at it from time to time..
But now that I had bought and downloaded a game.. I.. I..
I have been struck down by nostalgia overdose..

Percy Grainger really likes the Baritone Horn. I have four solos during that piece. It's perhaps my first or second most favorite song to play ever. (Pretty close to Coat of Arms by George Kenny.)
Oh man, I love me some Percy Granger. I had the luck of sitting right in front of the baritone when we performed Granger at Carnegie... pretty sure that's why my right ear can't hear as well as my left can now. :P

When I hear Granger, I smile from a mix of fond band memories, and genuine joy at listening to his music. He's directly responsible for my love of olde folk songs.
I have never played a piece of his that I didn't like. Shepherd's Hey, Lincolnshire Posy, Seventeen Come Sunday, all good pieces. Even the ones where I don't have all too interesting a part are fun to listen to. I sure do love me some folk songs.

The NDP(Socialists) won in my province again getting 37 seats, beating the PC's(Conservatives) 19 and the Liberals 1.

Hopefully this means good things for the NDP outside of Manitoba.

That thread was won by Olemar on the third post. Besides, my brand of pyromania is geeky, not nerdy.  :P

You are technically correct, that would be geeky rather than nerdy, and technically correct is the best kind of correct.

Came across the bullet-hell awesomeness of a game called Fraxy. And I though Warning Forever was tough. Some of these bosses (especially the custom ones) are just outright brutal.

Spent a good half hour boss rushing.

I think I'm going to try to start meditating and reading religious texts in the mornings and evenings.

Say what anyone will about religion, I've been neglecting that side of myself and growing weak and unfocused for it.

Also note that I get to define what "religious" means.  I will probably start by rereading The Little Prince.  Some days I may just sit outside and watch the sun rise.

Don't mistake religion for spirituality. It sounds like your looking for a healthy dose of the latter.
I recommend strong black tea with your morning star gazing.

Hmm, yeah, you're probably right.

I've never been a very organized person =/

Just found a game that completely passed me by somehow.  It's ancient but it's like some kind of mixture of Wizardry, Brigandine, Empires Deluxe, and Master of Monsters.  Mostly empires deluxe and Brigandine.  And then take an empires deluxe map, and then throw a parallel world that also has players into it.  It is called Master of Magic.

Surely people are going to laugh at me for never having even heard of this game sooner. But I have just spent 7 hours straight playing this.  I apperantly had access to the 'good' plane very early into the game when I had taken a tower that had seemed to do nothing.  But when I had finally learned astral gate and successfully transferred some units over using it I saw that there was already an explored bit around a similarly placed tower, and sure enough when I placed some units there and changed my planar view they transferred.

I am now invading the green and happy realm with my army of dragonmen, beastmen, minotaurs, and dragons, slaughtering all in my way, because according to the graphs, I have something like 10 times the magic power inflow of all the chumps over here. And while I don't have THE largest army, it seems that even without my magic advantage I'm a close contender with the current big guy.  I named my first outpost on that side "The Black Morass".  Muahaha!

I think I'm in love.
Grimith's LP? I bought it too, been having fun. Only won once, though. Keep dying to random raiders.

Wow. I envy you. You're in for quite a run ahead of you, playing with the different races, different casters, different heroes....then you'll discover that you can customize your wizard and create your own artifacts outside the game (i.e. One of the executables is an artifact editor to edit the ones you randomly find during the game). You have not known true power until you have Torin the Chosen outfitted and leveled such that he can single-handedly take a chaos node full of fire dragons.
