Everything can be entertaining if a bunch of buddies play it. That isn't a sport, that's dicking around with friends.

And there is nothing wrong with that amazing situation.

Oh really?
I knew a guy on a forum whom we referred to as the grimcess. Probably just a coincidence.

My cross country team just beat a school twice our size, as did our respective JV teams. The team we beat was ranked amongst the top five teams in the state for their league. I also got 4th place in the citizen's race which was another 5k immediately after the Boy's Varsity race.

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

It's just a slab of seasoned ground meat.

It doesn't need any more qualifiers or descriptions. What it has is excellent in itself.

Today I learnt that despite homelessness and joblessness etc. Crime rates have continued to drop steadily since 2006. It's nice to know tough times don't immediately drive people towards crime. I know there's a lot of other factors at work... but still.

Or perhaps now that they are getting more experience, they're getting caught less. There are WAY too many drug dealers running around my town.

Crime rates have been falling pretty steadily in America. There are local areas where things get worse over specific things but overall things look bright in that department. Rapes are up in the DC area but that is being attributed to more people reporting them, so even the bad news has a silver lining of improvement.

Estimated crime rates have been dropping, but those are based on police reports. And since the police are perpetually understaffed yet are graded on how well they reduce crime, they have everything to gain by reducing the crime figures. That doesn't mean crime in reality decreases as well though...

Monopoly is one of my favourite boardgames, behind Triple A and Risk.

I remember beck in Accounting that we theorized that getting sorta-drunk and then playing it would be the best game ever. Of course, I also bankrupted people through loans in that class too.

Finished reading Infinite Jest.  Lordy, what a mindfuck.

But still.  That's 1079 pages of densely written novel that I never have to read again, but probably will.  Quite good, really.

Hmm... it's also the second-longest book I've ever read, right between Cryptonomicon and the Icewind Dale Trilogy.  Now maybe I'll have the fortitude to finally attempt Les Miserables or Le Comte de Monte-Christo (ahahahahaha riiiiiight).  Somehow, though, this just feels like a big, worthwhile accomplishment.  I have to say, too, that it was a truly excellent novel in all respects, though if you dislike Chekhov you might want to give it a pass.

Go read :3

The best cream! Particularly if it includes chocolate and marshmallows, but that's up to personal taste I suppose.

Damnation, now I have an urge to go spend money I don't have on ice cream. Or a milkshake, even. Have I mentioned that creme de menthe and marshmallow shake is best shake? Hrm. I'm going to go investigate the feasibility of obtaining something like this for cheap.

Meatloaf is some sort of miracle food. It combines the deliciousness of meat with the, uh, shape of bread, I guess.

Meatloaf (i.e. the singer) was scheduled to perform at the Australian Football League Grand Final yesterday, but there was doubt over whether he'd show, because it was raining and that was apparently a safety hazard. This, of course, led to the announcers having a debate over whether meatloaf is better soggy or crispy, and eventually one of the judges from our version of Masterchef (which is a big thing here) was called in to give his opinion.

I'm not actually sure whether or not Meatloaf played.
