I was at a medieval fair yesterday.

I got myself an awesome pair of bone-dice. they have a very nice, heavy feel to them, much more heavy than the usual dice. very satisfying.

I also found out that I am suprisingly good at throwing axes. much more than the dice, the THUNK of hitting the target is so damn satisfying.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

...What.

Make mashed potatoes, only add that much cream cheese. So good.

Also, GalCiv has taught me that when I'm attempting to channel THE EMPRAH, I run economies about as well as the Bush Administration. It's still fun, though, because somehow I'm remaining vaguely competitive while pissing away a trillion credits a week.

Every day, I've been jogging/running just a little bit further without running out of puff. Today, I ran out of road, reaching the most north-eastern part of this island that I can easily/legally access, just over five miles from my house. There was a nice beach there. I had a picnic.

I'm loving this whole "Being fit" thing, I don't know why I've only been going at it for the last few months.

The ending filled me with an odd mixture of saddness and rage. Rage at the corrupt government in the game, and sadness at the death of John Marston. Why put it here, in the happy thread? Because it was a good conclusion to a great story, and I will buy the second game just to see Jack Marston avenge his fathers death. Damnit, they will PAY!

What game is that? Sounds kind of fun.

Apparently this is a spoiler. If you don't want your game ruined, don't read this post.
