It's FESTIVAL WEEKEND! In my small town. That means I get to catch up with old friends and make new ones. I'm so excited. Also, candied apples.

Fantasy Football drafts are tomorrow, and I just saw what position I'm placed in; fun (9th of 10 in the drafting order). At least I still get 2 picks close to each other by my turns (inversely, so do the early positions); however, the first pick will probably screw me over for the season (goodbye good quarterbacks) :( . Looks like I'll need a Wide Receiver and Running Back force along with a pretty kickass defense team again. I'll think of something. Gotta place in the top 4 again. Already placed 7th for the past 2 years, and I want to break that streak.

An interesting twist this time around is now that there's an equal split between family and friends in the league this year, my brother (league master) decided to change things up and split everyone into divisions between family (division 1) and friends (division 2). I expect lots of rivalry and crap-tons more smack talk this season.

Space Marine comes out on Tuesday.  Can't wait to get some of that intense SM action.

Hmmm. Ass Creed: Revelations beta invitation. Shitty weather forecast the next few days.

For a minute there, I actually thought there was a game named Ass Creed.

Got my Koss PortaPros today. These things are awesome. Comfortable, and comparable in sound quality to my $60 Turtle Beach headset. This might be the best $35 I've ever spent. Another thanks, to those who recommended these!

The computer I'm working at in class is now a week without a C++ compiler, despite 3 requests, but I get to hang out in another room that has one for the class until it gets added. C++ ho!

And it's finally Friday. I now have an entire 3-day weekend to feed my NetHack addiction.

Oh, and Linux. I read a little about a lot, particularly Ubuntu and Wine. I don't entirely understand it, but the future is looking bright through my Windows.

So much happy. eeeee

Just gonna watch so much Dexter tonight, before various silly kung fu movies apparently. The only real downside is that I have seen far more of John Lithgow than I've ever wanted to.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Made two purchases today.  The Movie Trading Company actually had a DVD of Beavis & Butthead Do America, after never having had a copy before.  And a totally unplanned stop at an antique store got me "The Outline of History", a 1922 four-volume mini-encyclopedia written by H.G. Wells.

Eclectic?  You bet your ass.

Protapros are some of the best cheap headphones you could buy. If you end up spending $60 again, watch out for grabbing grado SR-60 or SR-80s and sennheiser HD280 pros on sale. That'll open your ears and wallet up to entry level audiophile-dom :P
