Why do American ISPs hate small businesses?
Because they can, I'm betting.

Not bad, I guess.

Not bad, especially considering we don't pay for it :P

Hell bro, if you're around the city- http://sonic.net/solutions/home/internet/fusion/

Cheapest, best, no download limit services.

They're managing google's 1 gigabit service in Stanford.

I have heard almost nothing but great news about them, so I'll second Kael while being :/ for being nowhere near that.

Yeah, unfortunately their lines are going north and south bay, but not out east where I am :| Otherwise I'd be on them in a heartbeat.

Of course, I live in the boonies so I'm pretty happy just to get decent comcast service. I can walk 100 feet, hop a fence and be in a state park :]

This is with a few servers running, so it's normally 25MBPS down, 5MBPS up.

I have a really shitty upload speed, it's incredibly annoying sometimes. The download is great though... Although I highly doubt that I can do 18 times the paid for connection speed. I don't know what voodoo they're using to calculate the connection speed, but I'm pretty sure it's off.
... Maybe it would be that much with the ISP's inhibitions off...

I'm watching A:TLA with my mom, and she didn't dismiss it off the bat for being animated :D  She even likes it "for a cartoon", which is pretty good, I guess?

Already posted it in another thread when I was dealing with my Livestream channel and any issues coming up (already squashed some bugs). Sometimes the values double inexplicably when testing.

Looking at the other numbers, I'm not that bad off it seems. But still, I could do better with a more up-to-date USB wireless adapter. The main router is much much quicker (at least 3 times better), and I think I maxed out my adapter's capability. To give an idea, the router is a floor above me on the opposite side of my house.

As promised the other day in the sad thread, here are the speedtest results from my RIT dorm. Putting them here, as they aren't exactly deserving of a sad thread. :)

In other news, I'm back at RIT. So far it looks like I may have the 6 person dorm suite to myself for today, assuming no one arrives in the next couple hours, which wouldn't be too surprising since today is the first day for moving in and is a full week before the start of classes.

I must ask, what do you do with that much internet? I can't imagine ever needing that much to do anything.

Watching HD video streamed and downloading any video game in under an hour is what. :D

It also seems I came to the best dorms on campus. Down below out my window there is a plaza. And not the corrupted definition of the word of outlet stores and shopping malls, but an actual plaza complete with seats for lounging and a demi-stage for performances. Aside from the great aesthetics of the place, it means I get live music performances piped through my open window. On top of it all, these dorms only opened last winter, so despite still being not-soft, this year's mattresses aren't poking me with springs! :D
