First ever.

I hope it'll be good, personally I had hair to my back last year and cut it all down as close to the skin as possible and while I didn't regret it I haven't felt quite right until the summer where my hair was finally.. Dunno, hair.

It grows back. Hair grows back, right?
Not if you have MPB. Which I think doesn't apply here, right?

Still, it would take ages to grow back to that length.

Entirely depends. Some people grow hair faster than others.

I need to cut mine pretty often when I want it short. It's like it's constantly trying to get past my shoulders otherwise.

You people and your fast growing, long hair.
I'm jealous.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

It sucks when it's facial, though. My twin brother has to shave once every two weeks or so. I get scruffy after three or four days.
Meh. Someone I know got a detention for too much facial hair, even though he had already shaved that day.

I'm going to officially request a picture of your new haircut, Vector. Also, Locks of Love is a wonderful organization who could help a lot of people with the hair you're looking to get rid of.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes. America is as green as a bacon express cheeseburger... without lettuce.
I...bwuh?

How does donating hair to cancer patients have anything to do with the green movement.
You mean apart from reusing something rather than throwing something away where it will A) contribute to some trash heap somewhere and/or B) get burned and contribute to CO2 emissions.
Not that much I suppose.

I'd imagine that chances are you'll burn enough fuel in shipping it to the charity to outweigh any CO2 emissions from burning it for energy, and I don't see much in the way of problems with putting organic material on a trash heap. It's a pretty good source of protein, provided something shows up that can digest it (which is pretty sure to happen eventually unless care is taken to prevent it).

I found the "mark all messages as read" button.

No, I will not be giving my hair to Locks of Love.  I will be keeping it as a souvenir of my childhood, because it belongs to me.  Frankly, I had so many girls in high school demanding that I give my tresses over to "those poor children" (it was pretty much the only reason they ever spoke to me) that I will be keeping my sole cosmetic indulgence as a mark of obstinacy.

If I cut another bout of long hair I'll consider donation, but... this is mine.

(I'll explain more about all this later, but right now my dad needs the computer; I just got back from parts unexplained.  Sorry for the impatience.  I'm in quite a rush.)

If it's meaningful to you, especially if it's been frustrating how often it's been suggested that you donate it, then keeping it really is the best way to go. Incidentally, I'm mildly surprised at the frustration, since I've never even heard of the concept before today (or if I have, didn't bother remembering it apparently). I don't doubt you, since there's a rather obvious bias between our experiences, but it's always kind of surprising to note another way in which I've been spared some stress to the point where I hadn't even considered its existence.
