My friend tells me to read this thread on some forum I've never heard of.

This kind of made my life.

Not really.  But it really... I can't even say how happy I am.

And something else wonderful happened yesterday, too, and I'm about two hours, twenty minutes away from being done with all of the German homework for the rest of the summer semester.  My work ethic seems to have reappeared.  And having a new little batch of

I'm just so, so happy.

Name of it? For idle curiosity, of course ;).

Certainly has nothing to do with 3D maids that may or may not, be customizable.

Certainly not!

Certainly looks better than the old 2D maid's story game from the 90's ;) similiar concept though.

You can add me too. Only played it a couple times, but it should still count right?

2D Hiking-games are better than the 3D ones anyway, its hard to determine slope in 3D and it always just looks like you are playing Morrowind climbing mountains.
It really depends on how well made the 3d hiking ones are, really. Get's much better if you stuck actual things like rocks and such sticking out of the ground that you could be moving around, making the environment much easier to read the shape of.

HP and the Methods of Rationality, chapter 24:
Quote
That sort of thing didn't happen in real life, only in Father's silly bedtime stories about foolish gargoyles who always ended up furthering the hero's plans every time they tried to stop him.

This quote. It wins.

Everyone bandwagoning on the Methods of Rationality makes me immensely happy.

The best part is how one can tell it was written by someone whose expertise is in AI with sentences like

You'd think there'd be some kind of more dramatic mental event associated with updating on an observation of infinitesimal probability
I'm only on chapter 2 and it's already excellent. :D

Chapter 4 disclaimer:

World domination is such an ugly phrase. I prefer to call it world optimization.
Even the titles and disclaimers are great!

Tarn and Zach reached the last drawing: two dwarves standing beside a massive tower under a starry sky. The scene had been rendered and colored, and all that was left to do was for Tarn to write a caption, conceived by the donor, along the bottom. “Time for my chicken-scratch,” Tarn said. Using a black Uni-Ball, he carefully lettered the caption, which read, “We shall build a tower so tall, we can mine the very stars themselves!”
Someone mentioned the NY Times article about DF.  I went and read it, and the last few sentences made me go "awwwwww!"
