At least watch the first 15 minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" for the Omaha beach landing scene, it's pretty brutal.

No, I'll definitely watch it.  If it was accurate enough to merit its own hotline for veterans with triggered PTSD, I figger I might as well >_>

Just need to wait until I can get it out of the library, because I don't want to watch it in crappy off-the-internet-o-vision.

Had to share this "war scene" from Meet the Feebles (a 1989 Peter Jackson movie)

EDIT: I found a copy where you can read the subs to see what the Communist muppets are saying:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLAcDQLOiDg&feature=related

Basically could be described as "Full Muppet Jacket"

Apparently Americans are Lizards and/or Frogs, while the Viet Cong are Gophers or Chipmunks or something.

You could see First Blood as being a sort of Post-War Movie, and that's definitely something to add to the list. First Blood does some exploration of PTSD psychology, so it's worth watching for that. The other Rambo films....not so much. That element still shows up every once in a while, but never to the same degree as in First Blood.

Yeah, it was an anti-war movie of sorts. Ozy's whole plot was
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Which never made sense to me, because why would the world unite to take on one guy who they think is all-powerful anyway?  At least the comic story made a third side to unite against, the Doctor just doesn't work for a threat, especially since he leaves anyway.
No, see, they think he's acting as a parent of sorts yelling at his squabbling children. What Ozy was trying to do was get humanity into a position where it seems they're being told to unite or they'll die for it.

It's been a couple of years since I saw it, but if I'm not mistaken Rambo even breaks down and cries at a point. In an action movie. It's like-worthy just because of that, even if it as a whole is a rather bad movie.

Hell, I felt like *I* had PTSD after the Omaha beach scene. Which, as I understand it, is what Spielberg was going for. He was trying to inculcate in the audience the sort of shock and desensitization that the soldiers themselves went through, so that you're in as much of a daze as the guy walking around looking for a corpsman while carrying his own arm.

Gallipoli is another one worth watching, and I see you already mentioned All Quiet on the Western Front
