As far as I know Diamond is the hardest material known to man, you can only cut it with laser or another diamond.

I think 'hard' isn't a very well understood term. If you take a diamond, and and piece of steel the exact same size and shape, then you hit the diamond with a large mallet it will shatter, but the steel block will not. Diamond is just very hard to scratch, but it doesn't have more integrity then most other materials.

Thats a cheap diamond then, a true diamond is denser and tougher than steel, they use them in mining drills which has immense pressure at the drill bits. (training exploratory Geologist here)

They use them in drill bits because they will not scratch, and therefore will not get blunt, and you will be able to dig through anything without having to replace your bit. If the entire drill was made of diamond it would shatter during operation.

I was just listening to some Pantera and doing some of my regular stuff when I heard a sound like a key or a lockpick being put in a window. I then heard a sound like somebody jumping off of something in the house. I almost shat my pants. Then, I realised it was my kitteh!
