Ho-ly HELL!!!! My brother would love playing this. I've seen, and even played against him in chess, and got the crap beaten out of me consistently. That includes him outright telling me his strategy beforehand, and me watching him beat a computer opponent several times.

Also that rook general sounds really nasty to come across. I mean, ow!

Some elements also sound similar to a board game I worked on (well, updated the graphics/upped the resolution on via Illustrator) called Armis. Consider it a more modern-day military version, which you have to protect the president and your team's flag. There's also water on the board with water-based units you can deploy as well. All this, in a structure similar to chess, except it starts from the corners, not the sides.

Sounds pretty neat, and thanks to my participation in (re)design, I can get me a free copy from them. Actually, I still have to send them a message about it, now I'm reminded.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Shogun 2 FINALLY finished downloading. And at that I found out about an SNES slayers RPG that's translated.

Now I can take over Japan AND I have another way to indulge my rampant Lina Inverse fangirlism.

Was in my old neighborhood this evening, and dropped by my favorite restaurant back then... Shield's Pizza. Brought back a lot of old memories of good times, good food, and playing Mortal Kombat and Galaga with my childhood friends.

I use that most of the time, but I'm a much faster artist for certain kanji.  There's things I really don't want to ever run down.  Ever.

And you're welcome, guys =)  Just discovered that one last night.

Met a great guy online, kinda fell in love. Gave me much more confidence in my sexuality, and I'm going to actually do something about it rather than procrastinate and wait for things to sort themselves out.

So happy.  :D

I know that this is generally information best reserved to myself, but I thought it was funny, anyway. Today, I got dressed in pitch black darkness (as to not wake up the wife or eldritch horror daughter.) While I laid out my work uniform in advance, I did not do so for undergarments. Turns out, my socks and underwear match color today. They're teal. ^_^
