I think I missed the post. What exactly was the fear? Never the less, many people would go on avoiding that fear. You should have posted this in the happy thread.

A social fear, of being mocked and generally being excluded from alot of things. Im not that strong, so I cling to other people. Don't judge me..

Oh. Yeah, lots of people have social issues. It's like rank 2 on the hierarchy of needs, IIRC.

I got started on economics and spend half an hour speedily stumbling my way through the finer details of how to properly price goods based on labour, supply & demand, and the prices set by your peers.

The biggest issue being the peers part of course, your peers will rip you off if they can, they're not bad people on the whole, but because one person will rip other people off everyone has to try to rip everyone else off. That's right everyone! Take up as resources as possible in order to benefit from the rising cost of resources.

Of course then you have the issue that regulating the amount of ripping off infringes on individual profits, and reduces the strength of the economy.... [/rant]

We will never solve scarcity, because no matter how easy it becomes to obtain things other things that cannot be obtained so easily will become valuable.

The comment was sort of directed in an offhand manner. Scarcity is primarily an issue of desire at the end of the day... Solving scarcity would involving solving desire, and if we solve desire humanity has nothing to strive for... and Life is all about struggle... so I guess maybe my comment had more depth than I intended it to have.
