One of the players in my D&D campaign showed remarkable knowledge of the plotline of events in the campaign six months ago.

This makes me glad.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Janet joined the dark Brotherhood.

I don't know how you got your (halfling? with an ebony...is that a claymore!?) to make that disapproving arms crossed foot-tapping pose but it's hilarious.

Watched Stanley Kubrick's second film today, Killer's Kiss. Really enjoyable movie. In a way it's a by-the-book thriller, but it's done with a lot of realism. Characters stumble and trip and generally behave like you'd expect average people to in those kind of situations. I felt like it should have ended 40 seconds earlier though.

She's an elf. Lop-ears mini. A younger race, like a kid. And I use a modded standing jojo pose mod. :P

Welcome to the Dark Brotherhood, Janet. Rise quickly and surely through the ranks, at least until I beat your ass with my ebony warhammer with 50 fire damage and 30 absorb health enchantments. In other words, watch your back.

Dat voice. According to the translation, his lyrics are pretty good too. Also, Lavoie was Frollo? I found a reunion concert with better sound quality (the stage-camaraderie between them is rather cute too), and if so he's still got it. If you take care of yourself, you can keep your mad skills... it's good to see!

I presently have the happiest damned cat in my lap. He might be enjoying the music too, as he is simultaneously trying to tilt his ears toward and groom my headphones.

Ah, that's a different reunion concert--a number of them still perform their signature pieces from time to time.  This, though... for this concert, they managed to get the entire cast together, which I don't think has ever happened before (including the Haitian rockstar Luck Mervil and an extremely pregnant Julie Zenatti... shocked she came).

Anyway, I think that one happened relatively soon after the show, but this particular concert was practically a reprise of the roles, in many respects, and the emotional core was there in a way it had never been for most of the reunions.  Helene Segara cried, even...

(Also, for odd dynamics, there's always this.)

I'm pretty sure there are ways to watch a video together with internet peoples, with text and mic talk. I know Yahoo messenger does a "watch this with me" feature for youtube videos, though it does have issues.

I wouldn't say it's about what different cultures find beautiful so much as interesting, I don't think either Frollo or Quasimodo are intended to be beautiful, also I think it's probably more of a statement of individual taste rather than cultural taste... Also the spanish version does have awesome eyebrows on Frollo (again not for beauty but probably more just to give him a more accentuated and dramatic look... and possibly just plain cheesy evil looking)

The English Production From Vegas, which is possibly one of the worst ideas ever.
Ok, that one, I was watching it and thinking "yeknow this isn't so bad" then Phoebus comes along and I just had to shut it off.

As for the polish version... The first one gets kudos for taking a different art direction, and the second one... it does stink of neo-pretentious-artsy.

Oh, I was thinking in terms of Esmeralda's looks, as far as "beautiful" went.  I also found it interesting how different cultures expressed "depraved priest."  The French Frollo is basically an enormous woobie throughout the entire musical, whereas the Spanish one... no, really no.  My mother actually found Daniel Lavoie terrifying because he reminded her of the priests she had known as a child ^_^;;

And yeah, I actually quite enjoyed the first Polish clip, though I did think the language sounded a bit odd for that particular song.  Worked much better for some other pieces in the program, oddly enough.

I will probably attempt a livestream in a few weeks, if I have a chance to go home and download a copy of the musical I already own on disc.  With the unstable net connection here, it sounds like a bad idea--but I'll try to stream it then, if I can.

And, some other French music, for those who seem to be enjoying the others... I don't know if I'd fall in love with this stuff if I were hearing it for the first time, but I grew up listening to all of it in French class and, as such, am very attached >_> <_<

Verona--Romeo et Juliette (Hungarian)
Verona--Romeo et Juliette (Russian)
Verone--Romeo et Juliette (French)
Avoir une Fille ("To Have a Daughter")--Romeo et Juliette (French)
Les Rois du Monde ("The kings of the world")--Romeo et Juliette (French)
Les Rois du Monde--Romeo et Juliette (Hungarian)
(Still looking for the entire thing somewhere in French, unfortunately...)

Savoir Aimer ("Know how to love," by Florent Pagny)

And, just to show how very, very different Daniel Lavoie looks in a different role (also because the musical is freakin' awesome):
On Aura Toujours Rendez-Vous (We will always meet again)--Le Petit Prince
Puisque C'est Ma Rose (Because she is my rose)--Le Petit Prince
Le Petit Prince (Entire Musical)
