In a sense yes... But in Stalker the best defense is simply not getting shot in the first place.

Fallout: I've been kicked out of every casino in Las Vegas for being too damn lucky. Also I've gotten about half of the unique guns so far. I'm backing Mr. House in this game.
And the All-American is the best gun ever so far.
Can't wait to see what the unique Anti-Tank rifle is.

Also, after reading through, I Really want to learn to dance salsa.

Her, actually... Kate Beaton has a really unique style of dry highbrow humor that I'm rather fond of. She also did one of the best holiday comics I have ever seen.

It's a Merc Outfit. It's in a box on a roof one house from wolf. It takes some acrobatics and knowing where to look to find it. And even then smashing the crate might knock it out of range to grab.

It's only really useful for the very early game, you'll want a proper suit soon. And there's a free one in the stash later at Agroprom.
I scoured the entire area foundation and up. Didn't find it.

Nevermind, I scoured the scout area first, nt Wolf's area.

Climb the ladder behind him, get on the roof of the house, jump to the one behind it, shoot the crate in the roofspace and grab it.

Don't shoot it... The knifes secondary will break it instantly and keep it from being pushed out of reach hopefully.

 I never understood people who shoot crates open. Bullets are not crowbars people. It will not pry off the nails and boxes are more structurally sturdy than that.

Just shoot the crate from the other side of the roof and it shouldn't move away from the opening where you go to grab it.
