Duke University just floated a scholarship my way, and Iowa State got all defensive over it and offered me some sort of internship with their engineering program. Decisions for my future self. My current self is worrying about my contribution to the school. Every year, the juniors pool up money, talent, and labor, in order to buy, build, and perform for the school, as a sort of prepayment for the senior prank. This year, the junior class is small, so the especially gifted sophomores are being called on. The basic idea is we are taking a Cracked article and building everything on it for the demonstration night, in the hopes of pulling in all the students we can handle. The center display is going to be the Tesla coil concert, done by this piano prodigy kid, which will have Reuben tubes radiating out from it for added awesome. Someone else is going to rig up small ferro-fluid displays at every table. I get to be in charge of driving to Menards and buying materials.

I got the Brass Beast and Iron boxing gloves (Whatever they're called) in TF2.

Brass Beast kicks ass if you're on defense, even other heavies only last a few seconds.

The Fists of Steel is the best unlock ever. Run up to a dude with them and either punch them out if they are dumb and continue shooting or immediately switch to vanilla minigun if they bring out their melee. They are suddenly in front of the weapon with the highest close-range DPS in the game.

Much fun is had. You can also survive most tauntkills.

So I entered a cavern deep within my mines.
As I lit a torch and placed it upon the walls, I noticed columns of sand scattered throughout the chamber.
Upon mining one out, I was greeted by a torrent of water.
Quickly, I piled gravel atop what was left of the sandy pillar and managed to stop the water flow.
My clothes drenched and my heart racing, I headed back home to place my ores and stone in a chest.

Re: [:3] Things that made you HAPPY today thread. Metro 2033 has disappointed me

I've found a couple of glitches that work to the player's favor in Metro 2033. Firstly, if you crouch wile moving, you will continue to move at the same speed as if you were standing until you stop moving. Secondly, I'm not sure if this is a glitch but it seems the auto-shotgun only holds five rounds at a time and requires you to load it several times to get this number, however, loading it with the normal five and firing two shots, then reloading again, lets you load six shots instead.

I have lost track of the days.
But it's time to go home.
I have broken all of my shovels and all but one of my picks.
My pack is filled to the brim with rubble, dirt, and ores.
A few days ago, I think, at least it feels like it was a few days, I discovered many columns of magma spewing forth from somewhere above my head.
Near one of the flows, I found a strange red rock.
It seemed to glow as I hit it with my pick.
So I guess I'm pretty deep in here.
I suspect this to be an inlet, of sorts, seeing as I have mined much of the rock surrounding it, and I seem to find only more magma.
Speaking of mining around it, I found a place where it actually flows down.
Funny, in retrospect at least, story: I was mining a tunnel off to the side a fair bit, when suddenly, molten rock came through the hole I made.
I managed to plug the hole just fine, though.
I guess it's good I'm keeping all this rock.
Makes for handy flow plugs and bridges.
It'll be good to get home.
