i can tell you now, conventional ceramics sucks compare to FMJ rounds, even a inch thick and they fail. my best bet is then look for the ceramic plate that shatters in big chucks not dust.

What you need is a mesh inside the ceramic to keep it together when it shatters. Ceramics are hard but brittle so they're going to shatter as soon as struck. Think of them like ice and adding something to keep them held together like pykrete. It might also work if you back them with something that's not brittle or if you wrap them in something to keep them from separating once shattered.

Went batshit and read the last 200 pages of house of leaves. Such a fine fine book, with an appropriate ending too. The poems, letters and quotes were okeh too.
