Where are you getting this from? Everyone else seems to be <30 GB.

That is the bare minimum.  It does not take into account programs that use the temp folders that are stuck on C, nor scratch/swapfiles, nor anything else.
My C partition, which is only Windows, is using 45 GB of the 100 I set aside at this moment.  Win 7 Home Premium x64
