I can't believe I never noticed the ballet influence in Russian folkdance.  Or is the other way around?  Whatever the case, some of those guys have some fucking incredible tendons; I used to be able to do some stuff like that as a kid, I'd break my ankles now.

Other way around--ballet started as a courtly dance, accessible to any old noble, which then met Russia and caught on fire.


Things that made me happy today: I have successfully negotiated spaghetti-cooking and now have an entire week of lunches made.  It isn't even overdone or disgusting, even though the sauce is pretty much half onion.

Now I am going to watch Schindler's List, because I am about to turn 21 (and hence deserve a half-day off), I only slept 3 hours last night, and I am a masochist.

Huh, interesting.  I had to learn to play the solo (v. badly) in 7th grade, which is the real reason why I know about the film.  I'm just remembering it now because I've been on a WWII movies kick for the past... while.
