Yeah, they kill me a lot too. At least once you get past the first half of them you can farm health from the bats.

Also, there's a little trap in the magma pit at the very end.

Hehe. That's how I defeated Mecha  Birdo in IWBTG. By playing on a lame ass school PC. The entire screen was practically covered in platforms.

Nah, it's just that I take things easy with new stuff. No need to waste it all at once, right? That's also why I never checked out MSPA despite having heard of it for years. (That, and every time I want to do something new I usually pick the first thing that comes to mind.)
